Giralang

This project in Giralang was designed & Constructed by Canberra clear.

The owners of this garden in Giralang were looking to develop a low maintenance garden that looked neat & tidy but was still an area to enjoy. We accomplished this by using native grasses and shrubs as well as collecting stormwater run-off into a swale and utilizing the water by allowing it to slowly wick back into the garden.

By planting out the existing brick tiers with Lomandra and Japanese Maples the colour contrast really added a ‘WOW’ factor to the entry of the property and took the focal point from the walls to the planting.

The uses of old hardwood railway sleepers were used for a feature foot bridge that gave a nice rustic touch to the garden. Both the paved area and the stepping stones leading from the bridge are created by recycling existing pavers from the site.
